Seasoned Home Fries

This clean eating idea for Seasoned Home Fries is a tasty way to have some fries. They contain no added salt yet have lots of flavor. They go well with eggs at breakfast, with a turkey burger, chicken breast, or fish.

Serve them with a little ketchup for dipping (or a splash of malt vinegar)  and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • Spice Blend, such as Ms. Dash Table Blend or Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle
  • Non-stick spray

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

First, microwave potatoes to reduce cooking time: For best results, poke each potato with the tip of a knife, rinse and wrap with a damp paper towel. Microwave the potatoes on high for 4-5 minutes. Unwrap the potatoes and allow them to cool. The next step is easier if you can allow them to cool fully, preferably overnight.

Cut each unpeeled potato into chunky fries. Spray a sheet of aluminum foil and spread potato slices out in a single layer. Spray the potatoes lightly with non-stick spray and sprinkle with spice blend. Cook for 7 minutes.

Turn potatoes over, spray and sprinkle with spice blend. Cook for another 7 minutes or until the edges of the potatoes start to brown.

You can also coat the potatoes then cook them on top of the stove in a non-stick skillet.
